Lyndon’s interest in motorcycle training began in the late1970s, following attendance at a Stephen Gall Mx school. Another chance meeting with Gall and Doug Boyd (USA KTM rider) saw Lyndon working with these two on the design and construction of tracks at an off-road motorcycle park in southern NSW. “ I was lucky to spend time with these guys. I learnt a lot about what it takes to be a motorcycle coach”
A dream came true only a short time later as Lyndon’s involvement grew when he got the chance to work alongside some great riders of that era. Anthony Gunter (mx, sx), Grant Cramer (mx, sx), Phil Lovett (enduro) and Peter Pace (trials) gave Lyndon a good grounding in different riding and coaching techniques. Lyndon feels that over those years he has served a type of apprenticeship!
The next few years saw Lyndon change to other forms of motorcycle disciplines like Road racing, Speedway and Enduro, until a crippling and near fatal accident on a road bike almost left Lyndon in a wheelchair. During three years of painful rehabilitation, the drive to return to racing and coaching never diminished, and with time, Lyndon was able to return to Mx, complete the Finke Desert Race, and obtain his level two coaching accreditation. Today Lyndon races Veterans level in Mx and Trials and is a full time coach.
